From Machine Project:
Poet Dolores Dorantes will be arriving from Mexico to read from her most recent book Estilo. At her request, all audience members will be blindfolded and gently handcuffed. Each poem will be followed by Jen Hofer’s translations. After this potentially intense experience audience members will be unblindfolded, uncuffed and then served freshly-baked pie. The second half of the event will consist of an informal reading and talk with Jen, who will speak about the intertwinings of translation with the making of her own poems and will read from her work.
