You are invited to Molly Weigel’s discussion and reading of her translations of Oliverio Girondo’s “In the Moremarrow” and Jorge Santiago Perednik’s “The Shock of the Lenders” (2013 PEN Poetry in Translation Award) from Action Books. Weigel will read poems from these works and discuss the theory and practice of translating experimental poetry. She will also discuss the political context in which the poems were written and the implications of translation as political act.
